Mr. Salah Ahmad Meshari Al-Fouzan serves as board member of Kuwait Telecommunications Company - VIVA since May 2016.
Mr. Salah began his career in communication and investment sectors 18 years ago. In 1997, he started his career with Mobile Telecommunication Co. and in 2002, he moved to business development career and occupied several leading positions. In 2005, he was appointed Executive Director of the Acquisition and Mergers Department. In 2008, he was occupying the post of Chief Business Development Officer. While assuming that position, he was in charge of supervision and execution of selling and purchasing transactions of more than USD 20 billion including purchasing Celtel International Co. which was operating in several African countries, V-Mobile in Nigeria and Mobitel in Sudan in addition to expansion through acquisition of new licenses in Bahrain, Iraq and KSA. Also, he supervised listing of the companies in stock exchange markets in KSA and Zambia. In 2010, he worked on the deal to sell Zain Africa to Indian flagship Bharti for USD 10.7 billion. In addition, he prepared several complete studies about acquisition deals, finance arrangements and negotiations with the banks.
Mr. Salah was a board member in many companies and committees, including Kuwait Airways and the technical committee of Communication Regulatory Authority in Kuwait. Currently, he is an independent BoD member in Ekuity Investment Holding Company in Egypt. In 2009, he was selected by Global Telecom Business (GTB) among the top 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in Communications.
Mr. Salah graduated from Gannon University, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Diploma in Business Administration from Bradford University, UK.
